Assembly Guide for the Brickstuff Flickering LEGO Campfire QuicKit

Product Guide: LEGO Campfire Light QuicKit

INTRODUCTION

This guide describes the assembly of the Brickstuff Campfire Light QuicKit.  Your kit includes:
  1. 40 LEGO® elements in new condition
  2. Two dual-LED light flexible circuit boards with flickering LED lights (with black or yellowish backing)
  3. One adapter board
  4. One 3xAAA battery pack with on/off switch (batteries not included)

Follow the steps below to assemble your kit.

ASSEMBLY STEPS

As shown in Step 4.1 above, take the two LED light assemblies out of their pink bag and pass the two white power connecting plugs through the hole in the center of the black round plate.  Make sure to pass the wires from the top side of the plate (the side with studs) down to the bottom side of the plate.

Info
Depending on when your kit was made, it may include lights with a yellowish backing or lights with a black backing.  The photos in this guide show the lights with the yellowish backing.  The mounting and function of both types of lights are the same.

As shown by the two red circles in Step 4.2 above, bend one of the LED light assemblies so its two lights are sitting on top of two studs in the center of the large round black plate.

Info
You will notice the light assembly has round edges surrounding both LED lights-- this is to assist with proper placement of the lights themselves in the center on top of both studs.

As shown in Step 4.3 above, carefully press one of the two included 1x2 transparent orange plates on top of the 2-light assembly.  The plate should fit all the way down onto the black plate, and the two LED lights should be held in place underneath the two studs of the transparent orange plate.

As shown in Step 4.4 above, repeat the same process for the second LED assembly, directly across from the first.

As shown in Step 4.5 above, press the second 1x2 transparent orange plate on top of the second LED assembly like you did for the first assembly.

As shown in Step 4.6 above, make sure both LED assemblies have their wires running parallel underneath the large round black plate.

Step 5 above is included only for reference-- you should have already placed these two pieces.

As shown by the red and black wires in Step 8 above, carefully place the round black plate onto the rest of the campfire assembly while making sure the wires for the two LED lights pass between one set of clips (shown by the blue arrows).  Wires for both lights should follow the same path and be routed together.

Warning
As you attach the round black plate, make sure the LED light wires pass between, not on top of, any studs below.

As shown in Step 14 above, the final step to completing your campfire is to press all four logs inward until they rest against the transparent orange parts in the center.  When finished, your campfire should look like the one in the photo below:

(this photo shows the campfire lights illuminated)

After you have finished assembling your campfire, you can connect the two LED lights to any two plugs on the included adapter board.  Note that the plugs have a top and bottom, and that they can only be inserted in one direction (top facing up).

Finally, connect the battery pack to any of the remaining open plugs on the adapter board, insert three AAA batteries, and turn the battery pack switch to the ON position.  Your campfire should turn on and the LED lights should flicker, creating a warm light.
